Normann-Copenhagen is not just about lively accessories anymore, but is moving into furniture as well with the New Danish Modern line that was just launched at Il Salone. Collect is a wall-mounted bookcase by Ole Jensen that is also designed as a framework for special items. Jensen also designed the Memory Chair, a welcoming chair that will embrace you. The upholstery is a Kvadrat woollen patchwork to further add to the image of homey comfort, and there is something about this armchair that makes me think of a giant teddy. Who’s that sitting in my chair? Nicholai Wiig Hansen’s NW1 tables were the pieces that drew me into the stand with their hand-painted colours inspired by Nordic painting. Hansen was also the designer behind Normann-Copenhagen’s new BOB game, conceived to get us away from electronic fun. Also included in this new line is the Camping series of furniture, all leather webbing and beech, the Big and Little Claus benches and stools, the Play series, Stakit and the Hang lamp.
